100th Anniversary Alumni Reunion (UPDATED May 6)

The MIT Radio Society’s celebration of its 100th anniversary will reach its peak during the MIT alumni week in June.  In addition to open station hours, we are holding a social hour at the Muddy Charles Pub as well as a Gala Brunch at the Whitehead Institute.  All MIT Radio Society alumni are welcome and encouraged to attend.

  • Friday, June 5th – MIT Radio Society Social Hour – 7:30pm – Muddy Charles Pub
  • Sunday, June 7th – MIT Radio Society Reunion Brunch – 11:30am – Whitehead Institute
  • June 1 thru June 7th – Open station hours at the W1MX shack – Exact Times TBD

We will be making an effort to contact as many alumni as possible, but please help us spread the word! Further, please ensure your information in the MIT Alumni Association database is up to date and lists you as a member of the MIT Radio Society. Encourage your fellow alumni to do the same! Anniversary Gala Brunch Information

The brunch will be the premier event in our celebration.  The Whitehead Institute (located next to Stata Center) has graciously invited us to hold our celebration at their facility.  Our keynote speaker will be James Ahlgren ’55 (W4RX) who promises to entertain with stories about the club and ham radio in general.  We will also be inviting others to say a few words if they desire.

We have been working closely with the caterer to assemble an exceptional menu for the event – a far cry from the “food” usually served at our meetings!  Starters such as prosciutto-wrapped melon, and mango bruschetta will be followed by salmon and torte milanese as the mains.  The food will be memorable as will the table centerpieces!

Due to the logistics behind catering the brunch, we ask that all parties RSVP for the brunch no later than May 15.  The ticket cost is $20 for alumni, faculty, and staff and $10 for current students.  Attendees may also bring a guest to this event but a second ticket must be purchased.  Ticket purchases can be completed online through Alumni Association websiteTickets will not be sold at the door.
